Foothill High’s varsity football team travels very year for its first game and this year the Knights will be in Henderson, Nevada to play the Cougars from Coronado High School Friday night, according to Coach Doug Case.

“The last three years the Knights have traveled to San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara,” Case said. “The kids look forward to where we will be playing our first game of the season. I couldn’t find a game on the Central Coast so we elected to travel to Henderson.

“This has been a great event for the kids and team bonding for our program. The first three years we were fortunate enough to stay at the university’s dorms so the kids could get a flavor of what it like living in the dorms and being a student athlete. Every year has been a great experience.

“We had a great scrimmage last week and the kids are eager to get the season started. Over the few years of these events, I have seen a great growth in the kids’ maturity, their ability to handle themselves with class, and as ambassadors of Foothill High School. This truly has been awesome for our program and can’t wait to get out there and spend time competing with the kids. Looking forward to a great start to a fantastic 2019 season.”
