NORTHWOOD 4, CALABASAS 2: The Timberwolves won at home on Saturday. Spencer Collins-Williams got the win pitching four innings and allowing two runs, according to Coach Doug Euper. Bobby Bangs recorded the save going the final three innings, giving up no runs on one hit.
Northwood (15-8, 11-5) is in second place in the Pacific Coast League behind league-leading Woodbridge with two weeks left in the regular season. Euper said the Timberwolves, who were limited to four hits Saturday, are still struggling offensively.
“Over the next two weeks we’re focused on trying to play our best baseball and have a strong finish to the season,” he said. “We need to find something offensively so we can score more runs, that’s been the issue when get beat.”
Northwood plays Sage Hill twice this week.
EL DORADO 7, LAKEWOOD 1: The Golden Hawks (14-9) were led by AJ Frausto, who pitched four innings, striking out four to get the victory. Lucas Raya had three hits, Evan Rolbiecki had three hits, a double, triple and three RBI and AJ Frausto had two hits.
