High school football begins for four Irvine high school teams tonight, Friday, Aug. 17.
Portola plays its first varsity game hosting Fairmont Prep, Woodbridge hosts Cypress at University, Crean Lutheran is on the road against Temecula Prep and Northwood hosts Saddleback Valley Christian at Irvine Stadium.
All the games are 7 p.m.
Irvine and University open the season next week.
