The Irvine Girls Softball Association 10-and-under all-star team won the Central District Championship Tournament last month to capture the Orange County County championship.
The Irvine fast-pitch softball team beat Orange Canyon 3-2 in a game highlighted by a home run by Payton Harris.
The IGSA team then beat Fountain Valley 9-4 and beat Huntington Beach 2-1 in International tie breaker as the game was tied 0-0 after 7 full innings.
Mia Tamkoc pitched Irvine to the victory. The IGSA 10-and-under team then beat West Grove 3-1 and 10-2 to capture the county title.
In the championship game catcher Abby Sasaki hit a first inning two-run home run and later delivered a 2-run single to give Irvine the lead for good.
