Former Tiller Frostee Rucker back home

NFL player Frostee Rucker was back at Tustin High for a camp.

Former Tustin High star football player and current NFL player Frostee Rucker, now a defensive end with the Oakland Raiders, came back to his hometown for the Camp of Champions at Tustin High.

The free camp, attended by more than 200, was for youngsters 8 to 14 years old.

Rucker, a standout player at USC, played with the Arizona Cardinals since 2013 and was signed by his new team, the Oakland Raiders.

Among those who helped Rucker out former USC quarterback and NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez along with former USC teammates Keith Rivers and Rey Maualuga, who both played in the NFL.

Rucker presented Tustin football coach Myron Miller and the Tustin Public Schools Foundation with a check for $10,000, to help defray the cost of new high-tech VICIS helmets for the varsity and junior varsity players.

Rucker was pleased with how the camp went and said he plans to make it an annual event. Youngsters also received a T-shirt, lunch and refreshments.
