Godinez High’s boys soccer team, which reached the semifinal round of the CIF Division 2 playoffs, lost to No. 4 Westview of San Diego, 2-1 in the opening round of the CIF Division 2 Southern California Regionals.
Westview scored two goals in the first half and Godinez responded with a second half goal.
Godinez finished the season 18-4-2.
The Grizzlies (18-3-2) lost to Arlingon 3-2 on a late goal in the CIF Division 2 semifinals on Feb. 16. (Please click here to see a story and photos from the match).
