One of UCI’s biggest fans, Holly Ackman-Riggs, sent us this picture from San Jose Saturday, one day after the No. 13-seeded Anteaters upset No. 4 Kansas State 70-64 in the South Regional of the NCAA Tournament.
Law enforcement officials were about to escort the team to practice, she said.
“The official police escort for the ‘Eaters during their stay, these fine men in blue have become the team’s biggest fans,” Ackman-Riggs wrote to OC Sports Zone. “The team could get use to this special treatment, especially with Southern California traffic.”
