Northwood shortstop Ely Stuart was first team All-CIF.
Northwood shortstop Ely Stuart was named All-CIF Division 3Â for his outstanding play during his senior season.
Stuart, who is headed to Golden West College to play baseball, was named first team All-Pacific Coast League and was selected to play in the Orange County all-star baseball game and the Ryan Lemmon Showcase.
He batted .467 on the season with 42 hits in 90 at bats.
“We’ve only had a handful of players that have made All-CIF first team,” said Northwood Coach Rob Stuart, Ely’s father. “It is quite an honor based on the number of players eligible and a formula that makes it difficult for non-CIF (playoff) qualifying teams to have players recognized.
“So, I am very happy for him and our program because he represents what an individual can accomplish through hard work and perseverance.”
