Godinez’s football team rallied from a 22-point deficit to defeat Portola 28-22 Friday night handing the Bulldogs their first loss.

Godinez improved its mark to 1-2 with a touchdown in the second quarter, 13 points in the third quarter and eight points in the final stanza.

Godinez, coached by Sebastian Hernandez, plays Rancho Alamitos at Bolsa Grande Friday night while Coach Peter Abe’s Portola team plays at Whittier.
