Portola’s boys basketball team remained atop the Pacific Coast League standings, defeating Northwood 57-48 Friday night at Northwood.
Portola (15-11, 7-1) was led by Robert Giraldy with 20 points, Soma Doherty with 14 points and Mohsen Hashemi with 11 points.
Northwood (9-17, 4-4) was led by Shandon Sharifi with 15 points, Amit Flint with 13 points and Trent Harper with 11 points.
Yorba Linda 74, El Modena 53: The Mustangs (15-11, 4-0) won their fourth in a row in North Hills League play. Yorba Linda was led by Luke Ishikawa with 22 points and Connor Platt with 18 points.
Godinez 71, Western 46: The Grizzlies were led by Joseph Lopez with 24 points, Andrew Valdez with 17 points and Isaiah Tapia with 10 points in the Golden West League game.
Western (7-19, 2-6) was led by Brian Gil with 15 points and Dominick Wickliffe with 14 points.
