Junior David Mahood scored four touchdowns to lead Sunny Hills to a 41-12 nonleague victory over Canyon Friday night in the season opener for both teams at Buena Park.
Senior quarterback Max Spero threw TD passes for Ethan Johnson (52 yards) and Dylan Lawson (7 yards) in a span of 1:23 late in the second quarter to give the Lancers a 27-6 lead over Canyon at halftime.
Sunny Hills led 7-6 at the end of the first quarter.
