Quarterback Marc Filia threw three touchdown passes to lead Irvine’s football team to a 29-12 Pacific Coast League victory over University Saturday in a rescheduled game at University.
FIlia passed for 172 yards and also rushed for 51 yards. Ryan Ellis rushed for 59 yards and had a 2-yard TD in the first quarter for Irvine (3-5, 2-1).
Filia also had TD passes to Bryce Tanikawa (8 yards), Kade Zimmerman (9 yards) and Jacob Haley (40 yards).
Haley also had two interceptions for Irvine.
Eddie Castillo and Branton Lucas had touchdown runs for University (2-6, 1-2). Castillo had his best game of the year rushing for 209 yards.
