Five Portola pitchers combined on a no-hitter Monday to lead the Bulldogs to an 11-0 victory over Santa Ana Valley in the Newport Elks Tournament.
Kaeden Foucart started and went two innings, recording four strikeouts. Aidan Russell then went two innings and struck out six, Jamison King pitched one inning and struck out two, Josh Liu went one inning and struck out two and Josh Park went one inning and struck out one, according to Portola Coach Michael Nagamatsu.
Portola, which is fielding its first varsity team, was led offensively by Luke Shen, who was 3 for 4 with three RBI.
Portola resumes play on Tuesday against La Quinta at 3 p.m. in the Newport Elks Tournament. (For a story on that game, please click here)
