If you’re going to a high school football game Friday night, might be a good idea to pack an umbrella.
Yes, an umbrella.
After more than a week of scorching temperatures, rain was beginning to fall in Santa Ana Friday evening before the Santa Ana Valley vs. Godinez game and it could affect play for the many other high school games being played. Rain is expected throughout the night.
Rain rarely postpones high school football games but in October 2018, it caused havoc with Orange County games on a Friday night.
No cancellations due to weather have been reported, but we will update this story as neeeded.
And please check back tonight for updates on games throughout the county.
