‘Code Yellow’ event Thursday at Concordia features soccer showdown with Fresno Pacific

Megan Hussey and the CUI Eagles look to knock off the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

The next “Code Yellow” for Concordia University Irvine Athletics is today (Thursday, Sept. 20).

Fans are encouraged to wear yellow or gold and come support the Concordia men’s and women’s soccer teams Thursday afternoon as they open up PacWest conference play with a doubleheader against Fresno Pacific.

The men kickoff at 1 p.m. at Eagles Field followed by the women’s match at 3:30.

CUI Athletics introduced the “Code Yellow” theme this fall.  A “Code Yellow” game or event is deemed as a high priority competition, on or off campus, where fans can help make a difference.

“Code Yellow” events will be filled with giveaways, free food, and many more surprises.

CUI Athletics is also proud to announce The Habit Burger Grill as a brand new sponsor for all “Code Yellow” events.  The first 75 students who arrive for the 1 p.m. men’s soccer “Code Yellow” match will receive a free Habit Burger coupon.

There will also be pizza and yellow spirit towel giveaways throughout the afternoon.

The Fresno Pacific women’s soccer squad was picked to finish first in the PacWest conference but is off to a 1-4 start.  The CUI women are also looking to improve on their 1-3 mark.

On the men’s side, FPU is off to a solid 3-0-1 start while Concordia enters Thursday with a 1-3 overall record which includes a win over Cal Poly Pomona.
