Twenty-one boys basketball teams including three from Santa Ana are competing in the Godinez Grizzly Invitational at Godinez, Segerstrom and Loara this week.
San Clemente, Newport Harbor, Dana Hills, Northwood and Irvine are also in the pool play tournament.
Defending tournament champion Villa Park returns to the tournament.
The teams are grouped into five pools.
Schedule for Monday, Dec. 2:
At Godinez: Long Beach Wilson vs. Godinez, 3:15 p.m.; Irvine vs. Edison, 4:45 p.m.; El Toro vs. Fullerton, 6:15 p.m.; Laguna Beach vs. Costa Mesa, 7:45 p.m.
At Loara: Northwood vs. Loara, 3:15 p.m.; Calvary Chapel vs. San Clemente, 4:45 p.m.; Savanna vs. Newport Harbor, 7:45 p.m.; Dana Hills vs. Foothill, 7:45 p.m.
At Segerstrom: Huntington Beach vs. Saddleback, 6:15 p.m.; Villa Park vs. Segerstrom, 7:45 p.m.
The games continue on Tuesday at Godinez, Loara and Segerstrom. Most of the pairings are based on what happens in the opening round with games at 3:15 p.m., 4:45 p.m., 6:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
Two games are already set on Tuesday at Segerstrom. Saddleback meets Segerstrom at 6:15 p.m. and Aliso Niguel faces Huntington Beach at 7:45 p.m.
The tournament continues Wednesday and Thursday with the semifinals on Friday and the finals on Saturday at Godinez.
The championship is Saturday at 7:45 p.m. at Godinez.
