It turned out to be a record-setting night for Irvine High’s junior wide receiver Kade Zimmerman Friday night.
The Irvine senior hauled in a school record 13 catches from quarterback Beck Moss in Irvine’s 37-28 loss to Canyon, said Irvine Coach Tom Ricci.
“He broke the record (12) set by Jake Savona in 1995,” Ricci said. “Consequently, I coached Jake in Junior All American back in the day. Kade is one heck of a possession receiver.
“Like I’ve mentioned previously, when we throw the ball up, he usually comes down with it.”
Irvine (0-1) hosts Sunny Hills (0-1) Friday night.
