University High School’s baseball program will have an annual award named in honor of former Trojan Ethan Stahl, a standout player who died in July 2020 at the age of 43.
The award will be called the Ethan “Boomer” Stahl Most Inspirational Award, according to Ethan Stahl’s father, Harry and will be given annually to a University baseball player.
Last year’s winner was Sasha Cahill who is now playing baseball at Cal Poly Humboldt.
“Ethan was voted the team’s most inspirational player all four years he played baseball for Uni,” Harry Stahl said. “In addition, there is also a perennial plaque on which each year’s winner’s name will be added. The perennial plaque has been hung in the Uni baseball dugout.
“Our family has established a $750 scholarship fund that will be given each year to the winner of this award.”
