Seniors from the six Santa Ana Unified School District girls and boys basketball teams competed in the second annual Santa Ana Prep Showcase presented by the RAYA Foundation Friday night at Godinez.

An estimated 800 fans showed up and sat on both sides of the large gymnasium, the home of the Godinez Grizzlies.

Teams were designated into away and home. In the girls game, the home team held on for a 39-38 victory.

The boys ended in a 65-65 tie and Leon Raya, organizer of the event, said the coaches from the two teams, accepted the decision not to play overtime and were in agreement, according to Tom Connolly, who reported on the game for OC Sports Zone.

A three-point contest was held before the game with Santa Ana High School’s Alexis Neria taking the title.
