A local Matt Leinart flag football team from Irvine was selected by the LA Chargers to participate in the annual Pro Bowl Flag Football Championship Tournament held at the ESPN Zone near Walt Disney World Florida.

The 13-14 age division team placed fifth in the single elimination Pro Bowl tournament.
The LA Chargers team beat the Indianapolis Colts team 13-6, the Baltimore Ravens team 18-0, and the Buffalo Bills team 21-6 before getting eliminated by the Miami Dolphins team when a potential game tying pass was deflected and intercepted for a Dolphin touchdown with one minute left in the game.
Coach Jeff Harper said, “That Dolphins team has several players with Division 1 college football verbals already, so for a young team from Irvine to play them so tough was overall a satisfying accomplishment.”
LA Chargers quarterback CC Clarke played well throughout the tournament and threw several touchdown passes to Adam Harper, Patrick Bassily, Mihir Dhodia, Andrew Penrod, and Nathan Sasaki.
