Irvine High School’s linemen took first place at a linemen competition at Western High School last weekend, according to Vaqueros Coach Tom Ricci.
“There were 14 teams in the Western tournament,” Ricci said. “Kalil Dakak, Ethan Wheeler, Katrell May and AJ Godinez led the way in the squat competition that brought us to the front, but winning last four tug of war completions put them over the edge.
“I’m pretty proud of them, they did really well in all the events.”
