Irvine High’s football team is preparing for its season opener on Friday, Aug. 30 against Canyon at Irvine Stadium.
“Our schedule is difficult,” Ricci said. “For a Division 11 team, we are playing a Division 10 team, two Division 8 teams and a Division 7 team. They are all tough teams and will be perfect for preparing us for league.
“Our goal is to continue to get the new system down and everything points towards league prep.”
The Vaqueros open up with four consecutive home games at Irvine Stadium. Pacific Coast League play begins on Friday, Oct. 4 against Woodbridge at University.
