Beckman High School’s football program made significant strides during its summer camp, according to Coach Marcello Giuliano.
“We just wrapped up our summer camp,” he said Thursday. “Our football objectives for the summer were two-fold: continue strength and speed development and develop positional depth on both sides of the ball. We’ve been really disciplined about just running our stuff throughout the 7-on-7 season so that our younger or newer kids can learn, develop and ultimately be confident in making solid contributions on Friday nights.
“Our program objective was to continue to build on the energy and momentum of the off-season in everything we do. We’ve grown the roster to the largest in my seven years, we’ve added alumni coaches, worked with admin to update our game night experience and have enjoyed several great team bonding events.,”
A number of key players return for the Patriots, who were 2-8 overall and 1-2 in the Pacific Valley League.
“The defense will be led by returning all league linebackers Christian Taylor and Vincent Kim,” the coach said. “Offensively, we are looking for big things from returners Jonathan Sandoval, Kenny Aldaco and Dominic Thompson.”
Beckman plays all of its home games at Tustin High School.
