Yorba Linda and Edison boys basketball teams each notched victories in the Grizzly Invitational Wednesday night at Godinez.
Yorba Linda defeated Capistrano Valley 40-35. Omair Memon had nine points to lead the Mustangs. Alec Mena and Connor Platt had eight points each for Yorba Linda.
Capistrano Valley (1-1) was led by Conner Gleason with 16 points.
Edison won its second straight game in the tournament defeating Calvary Chapel 75-39. The Chargers (3-0) were led by Jack Horton with 19 points.
Cypress 64, Compton 58: Anthony Tello scored 20 points, Jared Brown had 11 points and Elijah Vaielau had 10 points to lead Cypress to a victory at the Coyota Classic. Cypress moves on to face Crenshaw Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Buena Park.
Beckman 55, Corona del Mar 44: Aamon Soma scored 18 points and grabbed 19 rebounds to lead the Patriots (5-2). Dylan Thoerner added 14 points for Beckman.
Corona del Mar (1-1) was led by Matt Olson and Jack Stone with 12 points each.
