Western High’s defense led the way Thursday night in a 57-7 Orange League opener against Magnolia.
“We gave up 54 total yards and four first downs,” Davidson said.
Oscar Howard, Drew Faulkner, Chris Lozano and Anthony Barbosa had interceptions and Marcus Johnson had two and a half sacks for the Pioneers in the opener.
Barbosa, also the quarterback, completed 13 of 19 passes for 225 yards and five touchdowns.
Faulkner also had three catches for 86 yards and a touchdown, Michael Sutton Shy had four catches for 65 yards and Matt Berenji four catches for 53 yards and three touchdowns.
