The top players on the team are outfielder Max Shuster, Groner, who also plays third base and pitcher-shortstop Jared Maister.
“Our overall commitment to the core values and collective purpose of our baseball program propelled this team to earn the league title,” Dohling said.
“The league championship is special but the character and determination to persevere through adversity our group of young men demonstrated throughout the season is what I’m most proud of.
“Our four senior captains, Max Ferry, Tom Ferder, Max Shuster and Elli Gindi, did a tremendous job leading this team. These young men excelled inside and outside the lines while demonstrating transformational leadership qualities that motivated our underclassmen to perform to the high standards within the program.”
The Lions are 10-5 overall and have a league record of 7-1. The team is ranked ninth in this week’s CIF Division 7 poll.
