Litzy Morales, a talented soccer player from Santa Ana High School, has been selected to compete for the under 20 Mexican National Team, according to Saints Coach Joel Cruz.
Morales was the team captain for Santa Ana this past season.
“Litzy will be a senior this coming year,” Cruz said.”She was first team all-league in the Orange Coast League last year. She was member of the under-17 Mexican National Team and has now been selected to the under-20 Mexican National Team.”
Cruz said that the team is working through coronavrius protocols and has not scheduled matches yet.
Santa Ana will be looking for another big year from Morales next season, he added.
“Litzy is a tenacious player with break away speed,” Cruz said. “She does not shy away from a challenge and is constantly motivating her teammates. Her effort is always off the charts. Litzy is very talented player but what sets her apart is her willingness and attitude to help makes those around her the best they can be. She is constantly walking around with smile and talking it up with her teammates.Â
“But when it’s time to compete…it’s time to compete. As one of our senior captains this year, the team will look to her for leadership on and off the field. Litzy is currently being recruited by several colleges around the country. She has yet to commit but will be sure to announce when she does.”
