Portola’s girls basketball team captured its second victory in as many nights, defeating Los Alamitos 47-43 Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs were led by Kira Watanabe, who had 17 points and five three-pointers. Allyson Tabayoyong scored 11 points and Lauren Shiihara and Moka Saiki had seven points each for Portola (2-0).
Los Alamitos was led by Kaylie Lien and Emie Fell, who had 10 points each.
Portola opened the delayed season Monday night defeating El Toro 61-33 in a nonleague game at Portola.
The Bulldogs were led by Shiihara with 15 points, Saiki with 14 points, Jadyn Zdanavage with 12 points and Watanabe with 11 points.
El Toro was led by Tamy Nori with seven points and Jenna Quigley with six points.
WOODBRIDGE 52, NORTHWOOD 33: Hana Watanabe scored 13 points and Teagan Burrus scored 10 points to lead the Warriors in the Pacific Coast League game. Both players are freshmen. Anna Jensen added nine points for Woodbridge.
