Crean Lutheran’s boys basketball team improved its overall record to 8-6 with a 58-55 victory over North of Bakersfield Saturday in a showcase event at Northwood.
The Saints were led by Drew Yezbak, who scored 18 points and Josh Shin, who had 17 points.
Tesoro 67, Claremont 59: The Titans improved their record to 14-3 overall with a non-league win at Northwood. The Titans held a 32-29 lead at halftime. Claremont came back to go ahead but Tesoro regained the lead with a 16-7 run.
Matt DeAngelo scored 23 points and had four assists to lead Tesoro. Mike Mahlen had 17 points, Kaden Garrett had 10 points and seven rebounds and Tyler Mirza was named the player of the game for his all-around strong efforts.
