Capo Valley Christian’s boys basketball team won its fourth game in a row out of the gate, defeating Woodbridge 57-43 at the Diablo Inferno at Mission Viejo Wednesday night.
Luke Powell scored 20 points, and Dylen Roberts had 13 points to lead the Eagles.
Woodbridge (0-5) was led by Eli Hill with 13 points, Steven Mimpiya with 10 points and Josh Lomboy with eight points.
Cypress 68, St. Genevieve 48: Kai Nagano scored 14 points, Kody Papke had 10 points, and Zain Sheikh and Elijah Vaielua scored nine points in the Buena Park Tournament. Vaielula joined the team after playing with the CIF finalist Cypress football team and also had 12 rebounds, five blocks and four steals, according to Cypress Coach Derek Mitchell.
Cypress plays in the semifinals Thursday night at 6 vs. Marina at Buena Park.
