Calvary Chapel High School’s boys basketball team held on to Huntington Beach 59-55 Tuesday afternoon in a game that was close from start to finish.
Calvary Chapel (3-2) held a 27-26 halftime lead.
The game was tied 55-55 with about a minute left. Huntington Beach (3-3) was unable to convert on two free throws. Calvary Chapel took the ball down and Jordan Embry made a jump to put the Eagles ahead 57-55 with about 20 seconds remaining.

A loose ball foul on the Oilers sent Calvary Chapel’s Gavin Russell to the free throw line and he made both shots to seal the win.
Russell, a senior, led Calvary Chapel with 16 points and eight rebounds. Carson Franklin had 15 points for the Eagles.
