Fullerton football players celebrate victorious return to the field after long delay

Fullerton High School’s football team made the most of its return to the field Friday night.

The Indians opened the delayed spring season defeating Pacifica 31-8 at Fullerton.

“The players were having fun and executing,” said Coach Richard Salazar. “We waited a very long time and happy with our results.”

Fullerton was led by quarterback Dylan Neal, who completed 10 of 12 passes for 163 yards. He also rushed for 72 yards. Neal threw three touchdown passes and had one TD run. With four point afters and a field goal, he accounted for all 31 points.

Bryce Mays had two catches for 60 yards and a touchdown and Jake Romero had two touchdown catches and eight receptions for 100 yards.

Defensively, Fullerton was led by Matt Galvan, who had nine tackles and two quarterback hurries; Hudson Chacon, who had seven tackles, one tackle for a loss and a forced fumble and Fa´alaga Su´e, who had three tackles, one tackle for a loss, one quarterback hurry and two sacks.

Fullerton plays at La Habra Friday night.
