Santa Ana High School baseball coach David Silva was expecting a big season from his team before the season ended.

The team was 3-4 overall and won its first Orange Coast League game defeating Calvary Chapel 4-2 at the Orange County Great Park before the season ended.

“The goal I had for this year was to be in a title game,” Coach Silva said. “And we were well on our way to do that and we were going to rely on the arm of senior right hander Vincent Tinajero who signed with Bradley.”

Tinajero had a no-hitter earlier this season. Junior Adam Meza was another standout, Silva said.

“We also had a good complementary of arms with senior catcher pitcher Emilio Castaneda and senior pitcher Gustavo Zapata. We also had junior left handed pitcher-first baseman Eli Lopez, senior right hander and outfielder Joel Gonzalez, sophomore right hander Luis Bruno and freshman shortstop- pitcher right hander Josh Delgado.”

Silva said the team had a great summer season and he looks forward to the future.

“We had a great time in the summer playing in the Long Beach area so I am very confident our program will be very competitive in the next years to come,” he said.
