Santa Ana, the defending league champion, will now get ready for a battle Friday night for the outright league against Orange. The game will be a home game for Orange and played at Chapman University.
“We played very hard on defense led by JJ Cortes and Joshua Villegas,” said Saints Coach Charlie TeGantvoort. “Our offense found its rhythm finishing the game (with) balanced running and throwing the ball behind our offensive line led by center Kevin Arellano.”
Santa Ana (6-3, 4-0) will now get ready for Orange (8-1, 4-0) which clinched a share of the league title with a 53-7 win over Calvary Chapel Thursday.
“We were able to take a successful ‘step four’ towards our goal of a league championship, but the next step we must take is vs. a very athletic Orange High School football team that has won many games this year.
“We must have our best game of the year and play harder than we ever have if we want to be successful against them. It is a very exciting challenge for us and we are looking forward to the game.”
