Friday night, Woodbridge football coach Rick Gibson was celebrating after his team won the Dennis Toohey Fence Post Trophy and the school’s first league title in 20 years.

Saturday afternoon, Gibson volunteered to take part in a fund-raiser for the school at the first Woodnbridge Fall Fest at the Mike Ward Community Park.

Guests were invited to take throws to sink coaches, including Gibson and baseball coach Ryan Brucker.

One of the first contestants, varsity football player Noah Norris, a starting right tackle, had a perfect throw on his first throw and Gibson was quickly dunked into the water.

“It felt pretty good to do it on the first ball,” the senior said. “I wasn’t really expecting it to be on the first ball. ”

Players from many of the Woodbridge teams were on hand for the event, sponsored by the Woodbridge Athletic Boosters.

“It’s really nice bringing all the sports teams together and having a festival,” Norris said.
