Pacifica Christian High School basketball standout Riyaan Jiwani has verbally committed to play basketball for New York University, according to school officials.
Jiwani, who will be a senior in the fall, will be entering his fourth year and has helped the program, coached by Jeff Berokoff, achieve some big milestones, including the team’s San Joaquin League title in the 2019-2020 season.
“Riyann has been instrumental in growing the boys basketball program here at Pacifica Christian over the past three years, helping the program reach three consecutive post-season appearances, as well as a CIF final in 2019,” said Athletic Director Brandon Gonzalez.
“He is also one of our most dedicated student-athletes, not only in his academic studies and his sport, but he has also been an incredible leader within our Student Body. His passion and desire to build school culture, create meaningful experiences for his peers, and his support for Triton Nation as a whole is very impressive. I look forward to having him for one more year at Pacifica, and I can’t wait to follow him during his collegiate career at NYU.”
