Orange County boys basketball highlights and final scores for Saturday, Dec. 9

SAN JUAN INVITATIONAL

Mater Dei 84, El Camino 55: Mater Dei was led by Owen Verna, who had 25 points and six 3-pointers and was named tournament MVP after leading the Monarchs to the tournament title. The Monarchs Brannon Martinsen was named to the all-tournament team. Martinsen had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Davidson had 13 points and 13 rebounds. Coach Gary McKnight earned win number 1,250, according to Mater Dei officials.

Trabuco Hills 67, Dana Hills 49: The Mustangs (10-3) captured third place in the tournament. Jordan Nguyen scored 14 points, Matt Mowers had 13 points and nine rebounds, Sam Meza-Tallada 12 points and Arshia Amini 12 points and five rebounds to lead Trabuco Hills (10-3). Collin Haugh and Niki Grguric had 13 points each to lead Dana Hills.

San Juan Hills 66, Rancho Buena Vista 45: The Stallions were led by Nate Brosch, who had 19 points.

Capistrano Valley Christian 62, Victory Christian 54: Michael Ahern had 24 points, Cetin Seles and Benjamin Makelela 13 points each to lead Capo Valley Christian. Seles was named to the all-tournament team. He had 54 points during the week.

Tesoro 52, Mission Viejo 38

Godinez 50, Laguna Hills 42: Lucas Andaluz scored 17 points and Israel Moreno 12 points.

TSUMURA INVITATIONAL

Santa Margarita 91, St. Patrick 32: The Eagles won the tournament title. Ethan Rhee and Tobias Averill had 12 points each, Cameron McNamee 11 points and Drew Anderson 10 points to lead the Eagles.

GARY RAYA CLASSIC

Yorba Linda 61, Los Altos 52: The Mustangs won the championship led by Orlando Law, who was named tournament MVP.

Fountain Valley 70, Troy 45 (third place)

Capo Valley 60, Pomona 18

Calabasas 59, El Dorado 55 (OT)

BEACH BASH

Foothill 67, Orange Lutheran 64: The Knights wrapped up the tournament with a solid effort. Isaiah Bernard had 20 points, 11 rebounds and four assists and made the game-winning 3-pointer as time expired. Danny Kennard had 22 points and 10 rebounds, Lorenzo Turner 10 points and four rebounds and Mansur McClain 10 points and six rebounds.

Edison 60, Northwood 52: Edison held on to a six point lead going into the fourth quarter to win Saturday led by all-tournament players Dane Johnson and Kaz Hampton. Zaid Yunis had 23 points and Ryan Abaye and TJ Navarro 11 points each to lead Northwood. Yunis and Abaye were named to the all-tournament team.

JSerra 71, Pacifica Christian 51: Aidan Fowler had 29 points, Sebastian Rancik 13 points, Drew Bowman 12 points and Korin Hull 10 points to lead the undefeated Lions (11-0). Mike Noel led Pacifica Christian with 15 points. EJ Spillman had 13 points and six assists, Hudson Reynolds 12 points and Logan Stewart nine points and eight rebounds.

NON-LEAGUE

California 79, Western 38: Cal High (6-6) was led by Victor Mendez who had 17 points and five 3-pointers. Luke Sanchez had 14 points, Kenny Renfrow 13 points and Josh Linares 10 points.
