Mater Dei rallies to defeat Santa Margarita and JSerra tops Servite in Trinity League; Uni wins PCL game

MATER DEI 61, SANTA MARGARITA 58: The Monarchs battled back to win the Trinity League game at Mater Dei Thursday night.

Zack Davidson scored 22 points and had five rebounds to lead Mater Dei (21-2, 5-0). Gabriel Quiette had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists and Kaden Minter had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Santa Margarita (17-2, 6-2) was led by Jake Heberle who had 13 points. Kyle Evans and Cameron Mercadel had 12 points each and Rockwell Reynolds 10 points for Santa Margarita.

The Eagles led by 10 points with about six minutes left in the third quarter. Santa Margarita held a one-point lead after three quarters before Mater Dei tied the game 46-46 with 4:32 remaining.

JSERRA 58, SERVITE 44: The Lions (13-8, 3-5) captured a Trinity League victory Thursday night. JSerra was led by Robert Diaz, who scored 15 points. Joshua Ragsdale scored 12 points, Dane Persek had 10 points and Aidan Fowler nine points.

Servite (12-7, 0-7) was led by Tyler Small who had 17 points and Davyn Roberts, who had 12 points.

UNIVERSITY 85, NORTHWOOD 78: The Trojans captured a Pacific Coast League victory at Northwood. Senior Joseph Purser scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds, sophomore Christian DeBarge had seven rebounds and four assists, senior Ali Wahedi had 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists and senior Jad Hajj-Shehadeh had 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists to lead University (11-13, 6-4).

Justin Gee scored 28 points, Ryan Abaye had 14 points and Aditya Sheth and Daniil Shaplov had 13 points each for Northwood (15-8, 3-5).
