Irvine High’s 2021 football schedule has been revised with non-league games against Canyon, Troy and Sonora, according to Coach Tom Ricci.
“I’m bummed we lost Ocean View as I think they are very similar to us and it would have been a good game, but Sonora is a good pick up for us,” Ricci said. “They are usually very tough and with their new coach, I’m sure they will give us a good run.”
Football teams had to revise their schedules after CIF officials moved the tentative start date of the season from August 2020 to January 2021, pending approval from local and state health authorities.
