BOYS BASKETBALL: El Dorado, Servite, Orange, Santa Margarita, VP and Canyon win

EL DORADO 85, SANTIAGO 46: The Golden Hawks were led by Evan Nam, who had 18 points and three 3-pointers in the Luis Macias Tournament at Santa Ana. Noah Barker had 17 points, Jack Boettner 15 points, Brandon Kim nine points and Nathan Sweet eight points.

SERVITE 100, UNITED CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 18: Tariq Johnson scored 22 points, Jack Kennedy 18 points and Jake Schutt 10 points to lead the Friars in the Rumble on the Hill Tournament. It was the first game for new Servite coach Matt Kanne.

SANTA MARGARITA 89, TEMECULA VALLEY 38: Rodney Westmoreland led the Eagles with six assists. Brayden Kyman had five assists and Luke Scopaz four assists. Drew Anderson led Santa Margarita with 30 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists and Kaiden Bailey had 26 points with four 3-pointers and six rebounds.

ORANGE 63, SAMUELI ACADEMY 30: Senior Sebastian Nunez had 22 points and junior Isaac Cruz 12 points to lead the Panthers in their season opener at home.

VILLA PARK 92, SOUTH GATE 24: The Spartans were led by Sebastian Perez who had 16 points, three assists and two steals in the Rumble on the Hill. Chris Hauck had 14 points and four rebounds, Jorden Salem 13 points and six rebounds, Jacob Lopez and Nate Chung 11 points each and Jed Cain-Graves 10 points and three rebounds.

CANYON 83, UNIVERSITY 43: The Comanches won at the 8th Annual Rumble on the Hill.

Canyon jumped out to a 26-7 lead five minutes into the game. University played well over the next 15 minutes cutting the deficit to 31-13 at the end of the first quarter and 41-28 at halftime. Halfway through the third quarter the Trojans reduced the margin to 49-39. Canyon then went on a 34-4 run to close out the game.

Canyon was led by a trio of starting guards: senior Rami Awad (21 points and 5 threes), freshman Dean Dohrmann (21 points and 3 threes) and senior Mohammed El Baba (16 points and 2 threes). Junior forward Luke Watanabe added 10 points off the bench.

University was led by junior forward Abdallah Shami with 17 points. Sophomore center Lucas Haun and senior forward Josh Thio each had eight points and a pair of three-pointers.
