Gahr and Centennial Corona baseball teams will meet in the championship game of the Ryan Lemmon Invitational Wednesday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Great Park Stadium.
Gahr (13-2-1) is ranked No. 1 in the CIF Division 2 rankings this week while Centennial (15-3) is No. 2 in Division 3. Among Gahr’s top players is catcher Angel Cortez, who had two home runs in the Gladiators first win of the tournament.
There are 15 other games at the Great Park on the final day of the tournament, sponsored by the Ryan Lemmon Foundation, led by Guy Lemmon. Dick Owens is the tournament director.

Northwood 4, Capistrano Valley 2: Adam Harper went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double to lead the Timberwolves offensively. Bobby Bangs was 3 for 4 with a triple and double. Keegan McGlaughlin pitched three scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win and Carter Liu threw a scoreless seventh to earn the save, according to Coach Doug Euper. Northwood was 2-2 in the tournament.

Laguna Beach 11, Esperanza, 4: Senior righthander Colin Kidd got the victory, going 4 2/3 innings allowing four runs on five hits and striking out six, according to Coach Jairo Ochoa. Sophomore righthander Becker Sybirski closed out the game going 2 1/3 innings and striking out seven.
Laguna Beach had 10 hits in the game. Seniors Joey Capobianco, Shea Blanchard and Colin Kidd each had two hits. Shea Blanchard led the offense with four RBI.

Yucaipa 4, Trabuco Hills 0: The Thunberbirds had another 1-hitter with Trevor Busby, a UC Santa Barbara commit, throwing the first six innings and Noble Ortega closing the game with two strikeouts. Evan Heaton was 2 for 3 for Yucaipa.
