OC Sports Zone: Community First

HONORING OC TEAMS: Coaches encouraged to submit pre-season photos

When it was clear that high school sports were sadly not resuming in Orange County and throughout the state, OC Sports Zone sent out a request earlier this week to coaches and team representatives to send team pictures if the pictures were taken before the season.

It’s our way of honoring the players on these teams who were devastated when their seasons ended. They put in all the hard work and dedicated themselves to having successful seasons. Then, their dreams were shattered and their supportive parents felt the affects too.

We thank the team representatives and coaches for their tremendous response. We’ve already honored a number of teams in the past few days and have more we are planning to honor. We plan to roll out a few each day so please be patient.

Just a friendly reminder, we’re only asking for pictures that were already taken and we do not want anyone taking pictures for us at this time. Please include first and last names of all the players and if the coach would like to provide a few highlights, we can include those as well.

If you prefer to just honor the seniors by sending pictures that were already taken, that’s OK too.

It’s very easy: please send the pictures and information to: timburt@ocsportszone.com so we can share in the coming weeks.

We also welcome story ideas … all our reporting is being done through phone calls and Email, but it can be done. In addition, if any local businesses would like to support OC Sports Zone, we would appreciate your help to help offset our costs.

Most importantly, we want everyone to stay safe and follow the recommended guidelines, including proper social distancing and frequent hand washing. Please stay in if you can.

Thank you for your support of OC Sports Zone. Like many small businesses across the country, we face tremendous challenges ahead. But through the generous long-term support of our advertisers, we will continue to be here for our communities. All of our content will remain free.

We look forward to covering live sports again, whenever it is deemed safe for everyone.

Please be safe!
