Portola’s all-purpose player Kaveh Wojtowich has commited to play college football at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, according to Bulldogs’ Coach Peter Abe.
Wojtowich was a standout wide receiver, defensive back, kicker and punter for the Bulldogs, who won their first Pacific Coast League championship.
“Kaveh Wojtowich deserves every opportunity and honor afforded to him,” Abe said. “He’s our school’s first four-sport scholar athlete (well over 4.0 plus GPA and National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete honoree), two time first team all-league player, 2018 team MVP, 2019 Portola defensive player of the year, establishing/breaking his own school records in receptions, receiving touchdowns, interceptions, passes broken up, and almost every Portola special teams record.”
Wojtowich was also involved in ASB and student leadership and community service Abe said.
“You name it, he does it,” the coach said. “He’s a jack of all trades, and excels at whatever he sets his mind to, as a high-character young man. His admirable effort both on and off the field has definitely made a lasting impression in our program and on the Portola community for years to come, as he pursues his dream career at a dream school playing one of the sports he loves.
“We are proud to continue to support Kaveh and our other Bulldogs through the higher education phase of their student-athlete careers.”
