Villa Park’s boys basketball team will get a chance to defend its championship at the Grizzly Invitational.

The Spartans (8-1) defeated Aliso Niguel 83-65 Friday night in one of the semifinals to advance to the championship game Saturday night against Laguna Beach at 7:45 p.m. at Godinez.
Laguna Beach (5-2) advanced with a 49-42 victory over San Clemente Thursday night.
Damien Parker scored 26 points to lead Villa Park. Riley Schroder added 15 points and Donavan House had 12 points.
“I really thought our point guard Damien Parker led us both offensively and defensively,” said Coach Kevin Reynolds. “He is one of the best point guards in Orange County.”
