Yorba Linda gets past Rowland 70-29; Newport Harbor tops Foothill 49-38

Yorba Linda’s boys basketball team captured a 70-29 nonleague victory over Rowland Tuesday night.

The Mustangs were led by Cory Knutson, who had 17 points and Luke Ishikawa, who had 16 points.

Connor Platt added nine points for Yorba Linda.

Newport Harbor 49, Foothill 38: The Sailors improved their record to 5-1 with a second round victory at the Grizzly Invitational.

Levi Darrow scored 11 points and Luke Bashore had nine points for the Sailors, who advance to the Diamond bracket and play San Clemente Wednesday night at Godinez

Carlsbad 59, Woodbridge 46: Carlsbad (2-1) won the second round game at the Diablo Inferno. Woodbridge (0-4) was led by Nygle Williams with 16 points and Steven Mimpiya with eight points. Woodbridge plays Capo Valley Christian Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Brea Olinda 70, South Hills 60: The Wildcats advanced to the championship bracket of the San Dimas Tournament with their second straight win. Brea Olinda also defeated Chino Hills 69-65 on Monday.
