Godinez High School’s boys basketball team, seeded third in the 5AA playoffs, defeated Heritage 62-37 Friday night on the road in the second round.
Lucas Andaluz scored 26 points, Adrian Gonzalez had 20 points and Jaiden Torres seven points to lead the Grizzlies.’
Godinez (24-6) led 17-12 after one quarter and 34-19 at halftime before extending its lead to 50-27 going into the fourth quarter.
“The defense was strong and the players played with composure,” said Godinez Coach Robert Morgan.
Godinez moves on to the quarterfinals Tuesday to meet Castaic at Castaic, according to Athletic Director Bill Snyder.
