Sixteen boys basketball teams, including nine from Orange County, are entered in the 8th annual Tustin Holiday Classic to be held Dec. 26 to Dec. 30 at the Tustin High Sports Pavillion.
Tustin High’s boys basketball team, led by Ringo Bossenmeyer, is the host team of the tournament, which follows a traditional format.
Teams who win their openers advance to the championship bracket on the right and teams that lose move to consolation side on the left.
The tournament will begin on Thursday, Dec. 26 and run through Monday, Dec. 30 with a day off on Sunday, Dec. 29. There will be three teams from Irvine and three from Long Beach competing in the event.
Opening round match-ups on Dec. 26 (from top to bottom of the bracket):
Mission Viejo vs. Long Beach Jordan, 2:30 p.m.
Murrieta Valley vs. Santiago Garden Grove, 1 p.m.
California (San Ramon) vs. Tesoro, 8:30 p.m.
Northwood vs. Long Beach Millikan, 7 p.m.
Cajon vs. Woodbridge, 4 p.m.
Long Beach Wilson vs. Squalicum (Wash), 5:30 p.m.
Esperanza vs. Tustin, 10 a.m.
Trabuco Hills vs. Portola, 11:30 a.m.
