It was another successful day for two standout wrestlers from the Qureshi family competing for Portola High School Saturday.
Carissa Qureshi won the CIF Masters Tournament in the 116-pound division for the girls, going 5-0 on the day, according to Portola Athletic Director Peter Abe.
Her brother Ethan Qureshi finished 3-2 overall in the boys meet in the 132-pound division winning his final match in spectacular fashion to finish ninth at the tournament, Abe said.
“Both earning Carissa and Ethan the opportunity to represent Portola Bulldog wrestling at the CIF State meet in Bakersfield next weekend,” Abe said.
The previous weekend, the sister and brother brought home individual titles on the same day.
