Segerstrom Coach Erasmo Ramirez said his players enjoyed competing in the game at the home of the Angels.
“The Jaguars had a memorable experience last night at Angel Stadium, griding out a 6-4 victory over a solid California Whitter team,” he said Saturday. “We had some great at bats, effective pitching from all of our arms, some outstanding defensive plays and memories to last a lifetime.
“Thank you to the Angels head groundskeeper Barney Lupas and his crew and Phil Gurule for being a part of this special event.”
Seven pitchers threw for Segerstrom, led by senior Sammy Verduzco,
Bryan Cortez had a triple to deep center field for an RBI. Jai Berrelleza had a run-scoring single and “Isaac Vazquez came up clutch with a two-run single,” Ramirez said.
