The Timberwolves (9-2, 1-0) were led by senior Max Abravanel who was unstoppable scoring seven goals before the fourth quarter.
Sophomore Leo Giessmann scored three goals, while senior Nicholas Miceli chipped in two. Junior Cameron An and senior Chris Pukszta each added one goal to complete the offensive attack. Senior goalie Adrian Fontao had 11 saves for the Timberwolves.
“Since University is one of the top teams in their division, we knew that they were going to be a tougher team than they have been in the past,” said Northwood Coach Kyle Kim-E. “I liked how our guys came out with an aggressive offense from the very beginning, which gave us a 13-6 lead going into the fourth.
“Although we struggled during the fourth, I’m happy that everyone on our team got playing time and game experience. It’s nice to get the win and to see where we can improve. We know that we have some tough league and tournament matches coming up, so we still have some things to tweak and improve on.”
